Probably the best Buffet joint I have ever been too. And this area needed one bad. Let's hope they keep up the same level of awesomeness and don't cheap out on things later on. I tried almost everything, hot food included. And every single item was great!

To be fair to the restaurant and after reading several reviews, I went in there hoping to be pleasantly surprised. Sadly it wasn't to be. The "host", an older gentleman, was almost surly. No welcome or smile nor even a hint of a welcome. He took us to a table and that was it. In a total reverse our server was very pleasant and did an excellent job throughout. The room itself is fine. Nothing extraordinary. Comfortable seats and well lit. I'm Food. It's a buffet. There was an entire wall of hot Asian style dishes including 3 soups. I has some hot and sour and it was enjoyable. Another station had a Mongolian BBQ style area where you put all your ingredients on s plate and then they stir fry it for you. The "star" is the sushi area. There were chilled clams, oysters and crab legs. The crab was a little too moist and the texture suffered from it. Numerous rolls and sushi were freshly made and presented. Overall it looked attractive. Many reviews mentioned the freshness of the fish. I couldn't really tell. There was very little that tasted anything better than indifferent to me. One of the things I discovered in Japan about sushi, is that rice is the be all and end all. The toppings are added to the rice to enhance it. To have great sushi you need to prepare the rice properly. This just wasn't and noticeably so. A dessert station had a large selection of simple Western desserts and a freezer with several ice cream selections. With 2 beers and tip it was $63 for the 2 of us. I'd like to think this was value for money and it probably was for many. However if you are going out for sushi and prefer quality over quantity I'd suggest there are many far superior options nearby. A return here is not on the cards, not that the surly host could really care. No thank you. No goodbye, not even a hint of a smile.

If your are handicapped and have a service dog well forget about coming here to eat they will refuse to serve you. I left and went to Anthony's coal fired pizza in the same place and they welcomed us with open arms . I guess being a war veteran in this country is not a good thing in Japanese restaurants

Two thumbs up!! I went on a Saturday night and the crab legs were fresh and sweet. This is the only buffet where I've seen Spider Rolls on the sushi line. Can't wait to return! Tip: Print out the coupon from their website to get $2 or $3 off each guest's meal.

This was my first time to a sushi buffet. Don't get me wrong, I've been to 'all you can eat' places before, but at those places they sit you down and give you a menu to order from and then proceed to bring out freshly made sushi albeit on the thin side. My only other experience with sushi at a buffet is at Chinese buffets where you never know how long the items have been sitting out for. So, even though I was curious about this place I had my reservations. I'm so glad that even with my reservations, I decided to give this place a try because it exceeded my expectations. When you walk in the center circular island is the land of sushi, sashimi, cocktail shrimp, crawfish and crab legs. Behind that is the fruit, salad and desset counter, with the hot food items like udon soup, lo mein, roast duck and more at the very back. The island in the corner next to the hot food was for hibachi which I didn't try. What really surprised me and removed my reservations was that in the center island were the sushi chefs keeping an eye on all the serving platters. Yes, there may have been a plate or two of sushi that looked like they may have been out there for a bit. But for the most part I felt the turnover of food happened pretty decently. The sushi chefs don't load up the platters with crazy amounts, so things stay pretty fresh. It's also nice that the sashimi isn't served as tiny little slivers as is the case at most all you can eat places. The sushi and sashimi were good, no fishy problems here. Even the crab was solid. I've seen some limp and sad looking crab legs at buffets before, but not here. You'll want to ask for the crab cracking tool. My last test to see if this place was worth it - my boyfriend and I kept checking in with each other to see how our stomachs were doing after the meal. I'm happy to report that there were no issues what so ever for either of us. If you're in the mood for sushi or sashimi and feel like stuffing your place, give this place a try. Will it replaced your favorite pricey sushi place? Probably not, unless quantity is your game. But this place will scratch that sushi craving you're having better than Publix or Target could.

Excellent place, one of the best Sushi buffets I've gone to; vast variety of rolls, sashimis and Sushi pieces, the raw bar is amazing, several desserts to choose front, the creme Brule is delicious!. It also has a Hitachi grill and many hot items to choose front. The fish is fresh and you can tell the food has great quality. I totally recommend this restaurant, it's definitely worth the drive from Miami and I will be coming back!

I found my new favorite go-to lunch spot. For $11.95 during lunch, you walk out of There stuffed. Be careful not to eat as much as I did, or you'll feel exhausted after. I couldn't help but get plate after plate. From the sushi, to the hot food, even to the dessert, everything was amazing! The decor is absolutely stunning... They did an amazing job creating the detail of this restaurant. I will be coming back over and over.
(4)Jerry S.
Reasonably priced buffet with creative sushi roll creations! Unique decor and set up inside, with an eclectic selection. Nice staff. Will definitely come back.
(4)Joshua D.
Went with some friends for lunch and had a great time excellent food fresh and good variety and selections! Sushi was number one on my list!!!!!! Cannot wait to go back
(5)Brody B.
Not sure how they do it, but the sushi and sashimi are great and plentiful. The variety of rolls made my head spin and they didn't skimp on ingredients. Many such restaurants overuse imitation crab meat in different rolls but not these guys. This is of course a reasonably priced buffet so one would not expect this much for what it is but they seem to be able to pull it off. They also offer peel and eat shrimp which were crisp and fresh, as well as snow crab, oysters, etc. I didn't even have a chance to try the Chinese food offerings as I was all about the sushi but they looked pretty good. The atmosphere was also good and it's large enough where it was busy (which is a good sign for any restaurant) but not so much so that it was uncomfortable. This is a definite recommendation for a reasonably priced, good quality joint!

Sassa was an EXCELLENT waitress. She is very personable, friendly, and nice! She made the whole experience as a big plus for us. My husband and I have a lot of experience with buffets and this one is by far the best. They have lots of variety, very clean, nice atmosphere, great lounge music, and decoration of this place is something you can even dress up to for a formal dinner. We came here just for lunch recommended by a friend. It was 2:30 so the buffet was almost empty food options wise, and I was about to leave because they didn't have my husbands favorite which is the eel roll, Sassa said they only make it for dinner, so we were about to leave, and she spoke with opener and he said she can make it especially for us. And they also put a lot of fresh new rolls for us to make it a great experience. I loved everything about this place, the customer service, lounge music, bathrooms are very clean and modern, they even have a pretty water fall at the front which is very peaceful. My husband was very pease with this place and so was I! Highly recommended!!! Ask for Sassa she is worth more than 20% of the tab, she keeps her eye on you through the entire time, always there.

The only thing HOT is the hibachi . Clams taste great BUT again sooo very sandy . The crunchy noodle were stake & she put the fresh ones right on top

I must say that I am thrilled that Miyako has opened it's doors! I'm not normally a big fan of buffets but I am a fan of this place. I have been here 4 times already and it is always good and fresh. It's also a very pretty sushi bar. The sushi is terrific and the assortment of choices is amazing. I really like that they have all the different sauces available for you to sample like the spicy mayonnaise or the eel sauce. The chilled peel your own shrimp are nice sized and very fresh. The Hibachi station is excellent and you can choose your own sauce, meats and veggies and have the preparer make it spicy or garlicky. The only reason I didn't give the restaurant 5 stars is because the hot food section is mediocre. When I lived in NY I would go to Minado's Japanese buffet and the hot food was outstanding, here at Miyako's, not so much. There are too many fried food items and not enough fish or dim sum. Many of the meats are a bit tough and too chewy. If you still have room for dessert, there are quite a few tasty treats which I fell prey to even though I didn't have much room left in my stomach. If you like sushi, you will love this place.
(4)John G.
Wow ! What s great experience! We ate there last night and were very pleased with everything. The place was spotlessly clean and inviting. I ate a little bit of everything.... No really... But did sample 5 different pieces of sushi, the crab legs, and 6 different shrimp dishes. The salad was fresh and everything was displayed well. Even the deserts were yummy. The staff was very attentive and quick to serve. I would highly recommend this to everyone. This place is a winner. Yelp has this on Federal Hwy and really it is in the Walmart plaza. It is located to the right of the front doors of Walmart. Enjoy. We plan going weekly.

4.5 stars: Great sushi and dessert selection. Restaurant is clean and food tastes fresh. A must try if you're in the area!
(4)Jessica G.
3.5, but I shall round up because the sushi offerings are a little more upscale for a buffet. Miyako is located in the back of the Walmart/stein mart plaza for those driving up and down US1 in a confused manner as I was. When my brother and I go to dinner together we usually do sushi buffets, and since this once is new, we had to try. Walking in the restaurant has a nice ambiance and is very clean. We were seated and started our buffet experience. I have a strategy. You have to start with the highest value and least filling items first at a buffet. This for me means shrimp cocktail, crab legs, and oyster or two, and sashimi. I actually judge many sushi buffets by their shrimp cocktail, which I know isn't the point, but it's one of my favorite parts. Here the shrimp were a little on the small side and they didn't replenish them as frequently as a would have liked as I often found myself picking them out of the ice display. The oysters were comparable to what I've had similar places, and well as the crab legs and sashimi. As I moved on to sushi I was very impressed with the selection, which is why I didn't deduct as many stars as I might normally for the somewhat disappointing shrimp. They literally have every kind of roll here included ones wrapped in rice paper reminiscent of a Vietnamese summer roll. I was happy that not everything was shrimp tempura wrapped with cream cheese. They offer quite a few dipping sauces as well which were kept in clean organized bottles. These included the traditional eel sauce and spicy mayo as well as a kimchi sauce. By the time I've worked my way through the shrimp and sushi parts of my strategy I am usually pretty fill, so hot food at sushi buffets is never something I am a the qualified to judge. I was happy to find however that they offered shrimp shumai, I haven't seen this at a sushi buffet before, usually just pork dumplings and wontons. I would definitely pick Miyako over that south Florida sushi buffet chain as it is much cleaner and better kept, and the variety of sushi is more diverse.

This place was SO awesome!! I was looking for a nearby sushi restaurant to go with a friend for dinner and saw the pictures/reviews of this place and decided to check it out. SO glad we did! They have everything here!!! From hot food, sushi, fruit, tons of desserts, crab legs, shrimp, cold/warm appetizers, salads, pastas.. so much. It was all fresh and really good! I was really nervous that I might get sick because sometimes that happens after a buffet but it was all good!! Can't wait to go again soon!
(4)Jacob W.
Decent selection of sushi and salad bar including the hibachi option but not as good. Overall a pretty good experience. Great service and for the price you walk out the door with a pretty satisfied feeling. I would recommend this place!
(4)Daniel Z.
Holy smokes, this place is amazing! You really have to give this restaurant a try, since the frontage is not very flattering and you'd be tempted to drive right by. Their signage makes it look like a Panda Express and being stuck in the corner of a shopping plaza doesn't help, but opening the doors will floor you! The restaurant it clean, pretty and inviting. The food? This is the best sushi buffet I have ever been to, and that includes the fanciest ones in Las Vegas. If you're a Fort Lauderdale local, all you need to know is that Kyojin just lost a regular customer now that I found this place!
(5)Tony C.
This place was awesome. Extremely clean. The choices of Sushi was amazing. I felt like I was in Sushi heaven. The Sushi is kept pretty fresh as they only put out one roll at a time and you basically pick out which slices of which roll you want. I had about two plates of Sushi and never made it to the Hibachi grill section. I did try two of their desserts one was a delicious flakey pastry with cream and the other was some kind of cake. They were both good and light. I went during their Lunch special on a Monday so it was not so crowded and ate as much as I wanted for only $11.99. I definately will be back to try out the Hibachi Grill. I highly recommend this place if you need a Sushi fix. This is the perfect Sushi overload.

Wow! We have another Japanese Buffet around my area of the hood. It's a good one too. In fact it may become my new favorite edging out Kyojin. It seems to have everything Kyojin has to offer plus. It's brand new, spotlessly clean, has a good décor with both sushi and sashimi offerings presented in a large round circular fashion instead of the lineup aisles which is distinctly a better breakaway from that horrible cafeteria lineup effect in Kyojin and so common with most other buffets. When the offerings are presented in the round, it just seems to afford a better opportunity for one to get to the food one might want without getting held up by some mentally indecisive food picker unable to decide which of what might be twenty pieces of identical looking presentations to choose. Better yet, allows you to roam and hawk out the offerings as it makes little differences whether you hit the round going clockwise or counter clockwise. You can trust me on this because as a former military commander, I plan out my buffet attacks with military precision, first performing a complete reconnaissance of what is available and then either using direct frontal assaults, flanking or other military troop movements get myself and those with me in a perfect attack position to get exactly what they want without lineup, delays or before any of the prized food items might be gone. Some of the items I've had here that are better or otherwise not found at other Japanese buffets such as really fresh more plump like raw oysters on the half shell, delicious sashimi cuts of fresh wahoo, good cuts of duck, an open slice it off on your own steak roast, and a more extensive offering of condiments such as the eel, ponzo and those premixed a was wasabi. With dinner prices hovering around the $25 mark, it presents a pretty good bang for the buck meal as well, so in my opinion just about as good as it gets for a Japanese buffet, a solid Four Star Plus.

I'm so glad I stopped here before I left FL! I thought it was going to the typical sushi buffet but I was wrong! It is really good and the sushi was pretty fresh. They have a large selection of sushi! AND they also have creme brûlée (my favorite dessert)! I wish there was a place like this in Indiana! I will definitely go there every week! Definitely coming back here if we visit FL again!
(4)Andrew J.
First off, before reading this review, understand that I am giving them the rating I am on the basis of this being a BUFFET. Ok! Now to get started....this place is beautiful! Amazing decorations, beautiful fountain and food presentation. It doesn't have the traditional Chinese "buffet" feel... They have a great attention to detail, even the bathrooms were really nice decorated!! Now to the food... If you like sushi, they have a remarkable selection of rolls. Many of which are quite unique. For a buffet, the quality was definitely above average!! For the hot food, the selection was pretty good. Everything I had was good, I was very pleased considering I ate towards the end of their lunch hour... They also have a nice Hibachi bar and a full selection of ice cream and fruits. I didn't try the Hibachi nor the desserts but I will on my next visit!! For a BUFFET, this is among the best I've been to... I will be returning!!!

Had lunch there today. Restaurant is very clean. Decorated in Asian motiff. Tables are inscribed with Japanese lettering. When you enter, you are greeted by the manager who instructs one of the waitresses to seat you. The restaurant is separated into two dining areas. Between them are the sushi table with close to fifty kinds of sushi, specialty salads, quail eggs, two types of seaweed, jellyfish ,et al. I ate there at lunch time and was quite impressed by their variety. There were tuna, snapper, eel, salmon. All sorts of Negri rolls. The next table were desserts with fresh fruit......which I found were not sweet, eight flavors of ice cream of which all were grainy and tasteless. The standout was creme brulé which was delicious. There were marshmallows with skewers despite a sign which read chocolate fountain out of service. The last table were hot Asian foods including chicken with broccoli, chicken teriyaki, clams in black bean sauce which were very good, shrimp in lobster sauce, and vegetable lo mein among others. There were four kinds of soup......wonton, seafood, hot & sour and miso. The soups were all average at best. The standout is the hibachi station. While I found the vegetable choices skimpy, the protein was fabulous. Quality slabs of beef....soft as butter, chicken breast, squid and shrimp. They will prepare it to your liking. Service was very good. One bad point, I had to keep asking for napkins. This could have been remedied by placing a napkin holder on the table. Lunch is about $12 and dinner $22. The current promotion is $2 off for lunch and $3 off for dinner with coupon. The coupon can be found in the Pelican local newspaper. Despite a few flaws, I would still recommend this restaurant. This is one of the best Japanese buffets in the area. I will be back again. Next time for dinner.

For a sushi buffet, this place was a surprise! Everything was presented very well and the sushi and rolls looked really fresh! I went to take my dad for his birthday and we were all pretty happy with this place. I've been back twice since. I hope they can maintain the quality
(5)donald a.
Although i know not a great ideato eat at buffets, sometimes old habits die hard.I went here based on yelp comments on a Wednesday around 1:30pm.The place is bright and clean .If i was blind folded and present with 10 of the rolls i could not have tasted the difference between any of them or if they were all the same or what was in them..Any hot food or tempura was stale and tough.Perhaps getting there at noon or on a friday or something might have changed the experience, but not for me.
(2)Brandi M.
As a mega sushi lover and someone who mostly eats for the QUALITY of the fish I will never ever eat buffet sushi. But this place really changed my mind and blew me away! The quality wasn't high class like some places I've been but trust me it was very good. Very clean. Very fresh!! The variety? Impeccable. So much to choose from. Very creative rolls. And dinner prices weren't bad AT ALL...can't wait to come here again.
(5)Keith B.
Great sushi, hibachi, & Chinese buffet! Snow crab legs and excellent sushi rolls from the three chefs. Highly recommend.
(5)Heidi C.
After reading two reviews that Kyojin lost a customer, we decided to give it a try. So glad we did! The sushi is amazing. The wasabi is incredible. They have roast duck, raw clams and beautiful rolls. Better than Kyojin in two ways: quality and price. Best sashimi I've had, hands down. Be back soon!
(5)Jessica D.
I have no idea why would you give 5 stars to this place, the warm food is dry and old, I only tried the veggie sushi and was so plain and boring. Save your money and go somewhere else.
(2)David M.
A Must have if you like Sushi... Great food, great presentation, excellent service, I work a couple of doors down from it & can hardly stay away. Amazing prices for ALL you can eat!
(5)Jack D.
Excited to try this place out, but was not overly impressed. Yes, a new restaurant should be clean and decorated nicely, which Miyako is, but the food was lacking in flavor and most of the buffet was not that good. To be fair, the sushi was solid, no "fishy" taste. I'll probably give it another go, since it's so close to home and work and because the other Japaneese buffets in the area are worse.
(3)Laura B.
Where are the people? It's 7:35 pm on Saturday. Maybe since season is over or the place is too new still. Service is very attentive. Love the hibachi. Love the green tea ice cream. We will be back soon.
(4)Annie A.
Very fresh sushi for a buffet. Great selection of food. Hibachi was very good too. Glad this place opened nearby.
(5)Genna H.
This place was absolutely delicious!! Amazing selection of super fresh sushi and sashimi.... even my fiancé, who is sometimes iffy about sushi was really impressed. Also nice crab legs, shrimp, and oysters. Hot food didn't disappoint - liked everything I tried (especially the crazy beef... so good!) and they kept the perfect amount out so it stayed fresh. Nice selection of fruits and desserts. Hibachi looked good too, but it was too hard to stay away from the sushi! $18.95/pp, found a coupon in the Clipper for $3 off. Well worth it... will definitely be back!
(5)Angela G.
MUST try... freshest sushi I've never had its so fresh its AWESOME. The hibachi is great u fix a plate with what u want them to cook for u and watch em cook it deeeelish..
(5)John C.
Found a coupon for a new buffet restaurant in The Pelican and decided to try it out with my son instead of going to our favorite place, Kyojin. We were really glad that we did. It is an incredible buffet restaurant. Better than any I have been to in Broward County. That list consists of dozens of buffets. The sushi is incredible in both quality and selection. The cooked food is obviously fresh. It was so good that I did not get to the grill, which looked incredible itself. Next time. Affordable with or without a coupon, $11.95 for lunch. Great service, very clean, and most of all, very fresh, quality food selection !
(5)Getia S.
Love this place the sushi and the oysters are always fresh. Stay way from the hot foods and they have a fabulous dessert bar.
(4)Moe M.
This place is new and therefore vibrant. Staff was real friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food placement area was very clean and food presentation was excellent. The sushi selection is the best and largest out of any of the high end buffets in town (shinju and kiyojin). The hibachi grill was cranking out some hot delicious meals and the seafood selection was great. Snowcrabs, oysters, clams, and all types of shrimp. Dessert and fruit bar offers something for all.
(5)May Y.
that is amazingï¼i can't stop eating the food over there! I would be back again and again!!!!
(5)Salman M.
for a sushi buffet & restaurant, this place worth every penny. good food, service, and ambiance!
(5)Earl B.
This is new place in the plaza across from St Colman's Church. It was the cleanest Asain Buffett I have seen in South Florida. The food was Very Fresh. Hot and sour soup was best I have had. The Sushi smelled of the ocean. A wide selection of hot food, deserts, and salad. The is also a grill that the will cook to order. BTW the grilled Squid was of this world. BRAVO!
(5)Ben R.
Better than Kyogin's , as good if not better than Shinju. Sushi presentation was superb.
(5)Martin B.
I have been waiting and waiting and finally a sushi - Japanese - hibachi that is worthy of my five stars. I just love the QUALITY of the sushi - it's fresh and fantastic! The other options for hot dishes are amazing (try the sweet chicken - it's like a general Taos but better)... Back to the sushi - most places use low grade fish - this place does not! Huge cuts and a lot of choices. The wait staff is very attentive and there to help at all times. Wow, take me from - one of the most honest Yelpers - this place ROCKS! The dinner this Sunday $20 per person a STEAL!!!
(5)Jocelyn R.
The address on yelp takes you across the street. The restaurant is located in the plaza with Ross. This restaurant is delicious. The variety of sushi was impressive and tasty. I have already gone back 3 times. Enjoy!
(4)Karina G.
Absolutely 5 star worthy. I am a pretty strict judge but I gotta say. There was just enough of each roll made to assure freshness for the next roll. The sushi was truly high quality. I haven't tasted exquisite sushi like this in a buffet style restaurant in my life. The sushi itself gets 5 stars. The chocolate fountain was an amazing addition that I was ecstatic to try out. The chocolate was rich and tasty. As a matter of fact, the price is extremely reasonable. When I Walked out of the restaurant after my meal, I just wanted to share my experience with anyone I could. So I told the first people I saw - "YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE". Another way that I know the food was good quality was because of the lack of ICKY heavy feeling in my body. My body felt light and cleansed from the soups. I will absolutely definitely be back with the rest of my family. Thank you! What a truly grand opening ! Also, the owner and staff were extremely observant yet privacy of our meal with my party was not disrupted. Brilliant service THE VARIETY- bless it. Everything was so fresh and delicious !
(5)Aga D.
Went there week ago for a lunch with my friend and I was surprised how good their food is!!! All so fresh, plenty to chose from, clean and easy accessible. Friendly stuff. Will be definitely coming back
(5)Lynne S.
I have eaten here for dinner twice. Once with my husband who isn't a sushi lover and he found plenty of choices. The next time I brought my son and his fiancé and 8 year old daughter. They were very happy with the sushi, crab legs, oysters and hot food. The restaurant is clean, the sushi and shellfish are very fresh and everything is presented well and has good flavor. I'm not a big eater but if I ordered snow crab legs and oysters for dinner anywhere it would be more than the dinner price here so it's a great value.
(4)Elizabeth V.
Buffet style Japanese restaurant - very well decorated and the place is spotless. Good food at a really good price. The rest of the buffet looked good but I didn't eat a whole lot of that food. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area
